Our Story
Bungoma Health Link Forum was registered as a community-based organization (CBO) on 30/03/2022. We are located in Kanduyi Subcounty, Bungoma County.
The facility was officially opened by His Excellency Rt. Hon. Kenneth M. Lusaka, EGH Governor Bungoma County on 12/01/2024. In the presence of: Global Action 4 Mental Health and Breakthrough Episcopal social services.
We are a modification of a clubhouse concept where adults living with depression, bipolar, and schizophrenia are guided and supported to achieve recovery.
We refer to persons living with depression, bipolar, and schizophrenia as members and not as patients. Our membership is voluntary and timeless. We aim at combating the consequences associated with serious mental illness by supporting the strengths of our members and addressing obstacles in real time.
We provide psychiatric consultations, psychological guidance, and meals at no cost to our members. We have a staff establishment of seven (7) staff, 5 full-time and 2 part-time staff, and a board that oversees the operations at the facility.
Comprehensive initiatives designed to create lasting impact
We foster meaningful connections to support mental health, empower communities, and create lasting bonds that promote well-being.
Empowering individuals with the knowledge and skills to maintain personal and environmental cleanliness.
Supporting sustainable development through community-based projects and capacity building.
Guiding our work to support mental health and resilience in communities
To create an environment where people living with serious and persistent mental illnesses can lead happy, fulfilling, and healthy lives.
To provide an inclusive, safe and supportive community that is culturally acceptable where different opinions are demonstrated, encouraged and embraced.
Dignity, respect, and partnership drive everything we do as we strive to make a meaningful impact in the lives of people living with mental health conditions.
